October 4th, 2008 "ONE GREAT DAY TO SERVE COLUMBUS"

2008 City-Wide ServeFest Columbus- SAVE THE DATE - October 4, 2008

City Vision is so excited to provide you with information on ServeFest Columbus 2008 which will be held on Saturday, October 4th! Hundreds of people from area churches will put their love in action by giving a day to serve our city. We will be working together on projects that will make a difference in the lives of many and we hope you will join us in this worthy cause! Last October over 500 volunteers blanketed this city with the love of God in service to those in need!

Please reply to this email letting me know if your church is interested in participating in ServeFest Columbus 2008. The great thing about ServeFest Columbus is that your church can participate at any level, with a few or a lot of people, in the urban communities or the suburbs! ServeFest is a win-win effort because any level of commitment is welcome!

To participate in this event, each church selects a point person to receive communication from City Vision about the event and to coordinate efforts at the church. We will gather on Tuesday, August 19, at 10:00 am to roll out the details of ServeFest Columbus 2008. All churches participating in the event are required to send their point person or a representative to this meeting. Please put this on your calendar and we'll be in touch as to the location of this meeting. City Vision will once again provide urban "Shared Projects" with for your teams to adopt on our website!

The most important thing that you can do once you decide to participate, is to get a "SAVE THE DATE" announcement out to your folks. I have attached an insert that you can use in your church bulletin or post on your church email group. We also have a brochure that is available on the website www.servefestcolumbus.com. Please pray about participating in this event and I hope that your response will be "YES...WE WANT TO JOIN WITH AREA CHURCHES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR CITY!"

God has orchestrated October 4th to be not only a day when the church will be gathering to go out in His name to serve, but also gathering to pray at the Prayer Summit 2008 held at Vets Memorial. By the way, the OSU football game on Saturday, October 4, is not only an away game but also a night game!! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
